Our team at Markham Fence was contracted by a local childcare centre in Cornell to install a perimeter chain-link fence around their outdoor play area. Our process began with a full site survey—verifying property lines, existing obstructions (including underground utilities), and ensuring appropriate clearance for equipment. We removed older fencing, set galvanized steel posts deep in concrete footings to withstand freeze–thaw cycles typical in the GTA, and installed 6-foot (approximately 1.83 m) height chain‐link mesh with a powder-coated finish for durability and low maintenance. We further added a child-safe locking gate, flood‐resistant footing design (important given the area’s well‐documented clay soils and drainage considerations) and signage integration. The result is a secure, visually clean fencing solution that meets the institution’s operational, safety and maintenance needs—and gives stakeholders, staff and families peace of mind.
